Constructed Refectory Table

This impressive refectory table is a fine example of 19th-century craftsmanship, inspired by the robust designs of 17th-century European furniture. Constructed from solid wood with a rich, dark finish, it features a thick rectangular top supported by boldly turned baluster legs and a sturdy stretcher base. Originally developed for monastic dining halls, the refectory table became a staple of grand domestic interiors in the Renaissance and was revived during the Gothic and Tudor Revival movements of the late 1800s.
